Hello! Im back! After a month of disappearance. Had lots of problems with my desktop previously, wat with the computer taking ages to start, repeatedly pressing the startup button, restarting on its own for no reason at all, its damn irritating! Called HP up to enquire about the problem, took them so long to check things out, wat with all the nonsense about reading the numbers out on the CPU, looking for similar numbers, blah blah blah, etc etc. Came to my house to collect my CPU and so i hav no internet for the whole week. And my wireless is not working, thus cannot my laptop! Eve before i flew off to vietnam, me CPU came back. Guess wat, HP got the wrong unit number, wa...really hopeless man, told them the address already, still can send to the wrong apartment. Fix everything up, got my internet back. Went to check my results: A for FYP and a P for IAP. GPA: 3.142. Damn happy! My hard work paid off de.
Then next day, my mum and dad and sis send me to the airport, budget terminal. Heavy traffic, thus the trip took longer then usual, and of course, the fares were more expensive as it was the peak hour. Reach the airport at 8.15am. Called carine and learned that she was on her way. Went to eat at the hans cafe there with my family. Received an sms from carine saying that she needs another 20 minutes to reach as there was heavy traffic. Got a call from her 20 minutes later asking me where i am. Looked around, spotted her and went to meet her. Checked in our luggage, got our ticket: seat no-5B 5C respectively. Went to sit down at hans with carine and her mum, my mum and sis and me. At 10.50, we went to board the plane. Tookoff time was suppose to be 11.25am, but then it was delayed as they needed to inspect the runway. So by the time the place took off, it was 12pm. Nothing to do on the plane besides chit chatting, so boring. After 1 hour 30 minutes, the pilot announced that we were about to land. As we were landing, i looked out of the window, the outlines of the buildings could be seen, it was a beautiful sight. Minutes later, the plane touched down at ho chi minh airport. Went to the customs to get out passport and immigration card chopped before collecting our luggage. Carine's dad was already there to fetch us when we walked out of the airport. Her dad took us to PHO 24 to eat beef noodles for lunch. The way of eating is unique, with raw vegetables (peppermint at that) and beansprouts and fried fritters thrown in, with lime squeezed in. Even the beef is tender. After lunch, her father took us to the money changer to change out money before taking us back to the apartment where we umpack our luggage. Her father's house is so comfortable, relaxing and cozy. There, we stayed for the rest of the day till evening when her father came back. Went to the cantonese restaurant can thong for dinner. The food is delicious. We had ma po toufu, sweet and sour fish, steamed vegetables, steamed rice and soup for dinner, and the total cost is only about $30. Very worth it rite?
Stayed at home the next day.
On friday, went to the city to shop, it was pouring from the time we left the apartment till the time we reached the city. Went to saigon trade centre where we shopped for sourvenirs. Bought a boat, a mirror, 5 dragonflies, a pack of chopsticks and pack of keychains. Went to the ground level to take some photos. Her father came at 6.30. Had dinner at Eden mall. The japanese food is superb. Yeah, and its cheap, $5.50 for a whole set, but its abit salty. Went home after that.
On saturday, went to parkson shopping centre after breakfast to shop. Hah, but the things there are expensive, just like the shopping centres here in singapore. Hence, we did not buy anything but just walked around. Had lunch there, ate the singapore chicken noodles, not bad. Carine's father ordered the malaysia fishball noodle soup. The fishball is so hard. After lunch, went to an thong plaza. The things here cheaper and wats more, we can bargain! Bought a bag made of shiny seashell, a pair of high heel shoes, three clothings, a dress for my mum and a hat. Haha...i looked like a tourist wearing the hat. We shopped till 5.30pm before going back to the apartment.
On sunday, went to banhmi bistro to eat sandwiches. Then cross over to the next street and walked to coopmart. Bought 2 carpets and 2 pillows. Stayed at home for till evening on sunday. In the afternoon, it started raining. We had wanted to go to the Banh tay night market. But since it was raining, we waited to wait for a while. Fortunately, the rain stopped. At 6pm, we went down to the disney shop to wait for the bus. 5 minutes later, it arrived and we boarded the bus. The trip to the city took 30 minutes. Went to eat at a restaurant opposite the street. The wanton noodles is fantastic, with 4 big wantons. Even the duck meat for the duck noodles was big and juicy. After dinner, we walked to banh tay market. The shopping there is super. There are countless of stalls. Bought alot of things there. 3 tops, 3 adidas set for $10 each, a short shorts set, 2 shirts for my father. There weren't much business for the stalls as it was raining before and the roads were wet and sleek. We shopped till 10pm before going back.
The next day, after lunch, we went to banh tay market again. This time round, i bought so much things till both my hands were full. Haha...carine bought loads of things too. We then walked back to eden mall to get a cup of cold drinks as it was sorchingly hot. Went to saigon trade centre, to a shop at level three to buy bottoms (her father is a regular customer there thus we could get special price). Bought a black pants and somemore t-shirts plus a blouse for my father. Total cost: $38. Wanted to buy a pair of jeans but there wasn't my size, thus i had to go back the next day. Took big plastic bags from them to dump all our clothes. Haha...damn alot man, both my hands were full! Went to highlands coffee for a drink of coffee. Met carine's father for dinner at 6.30pm. After dinner, went to meet ms hang and her tailor to make carine's clothes.
Stayed at home on tuesday. Packed my luggage. Man, it was full.
On wedsnesday, we went back to saigon trade centre to buy my jeans. Met carine's father at 3.30pm to buy the tickets for the water puppet show before going to an thong market to buy the lotus seed. Bought 2kg=8 packets. Had dinner at eden mall, ate the japanese food again. After dinner, went to watch the water puppet. Damn funny la, the show. Took alot of pictures of the show, haiz...there was this ang moh sitting in front of us, blocking like half of our views. Damn, even my photos had his head in it. After the show, we went back to the apartment.
Stayed at home on thursday till the 5pm where we took the bus to the city to meet carine's father for dinner. Bought a t-shirt for sujith along the way. Went to this nong restaurant which sells vietnamese food. I ordered this dried vermicelli with toufu. Haha...its a damn healthy meal, nth but vegetables. Then there was this dish where we put vegetables, chicken, rolled it up and eat it with some sauce. Took some photos of the restaurant and food. Went back to the apartment, past by saigon square on the way back.
Then on friday afternoon, we went to the cantonese restautant can thong for lunch. Ordered the ma po toufu, sweet and sour fish, crab meat with asparagus soup and strawberry smoothie. Carine ordered the crabmeat with corn soup and a cup of cold tea. Woah, we were so full halfway through our meals. Haha...and we still had to finish the toufu and the fish, i had my strawberry smoothie to fnish as well and it consists of milk, gosh. The both of us had a hard time trying to finish the food, slowly, letting our food digests a little first before eating. I was jumping for joy when i finished my strawberry smoothie. After much difficulty, we managed to finish all the food. And guess wat, there was still cut fruits provided at the end. Wa...cannot eat already, damn full. Haha...but still we forced ourselves to eat till only 3 pieces of fruits were left. Total bill $18. Super worth it. All in all, we spend more then 1 hour in the restaurant. Went back up to the apartment to relieve ourselves before going down to do manicure. $7 in total plus buffering shine, cuticle cutting, filling and colouring. Went back up to the apartment again for a rest before taking the 6pm bus to the city. Walked to saigon square, the newly moved shopping centre. Bought buffy dvd, the whole complete set for only $12. Damn cheap. Walked back to a restaurant at 7pm to eat wanton noodles for dinner. After dinner, went to saigon centre to meet ms hang to collect carine's tailored made clothes. Carine went to try on the clothes to see whether the size suit her. The green jumper suits her while the other 2 were too loose. Thus, had to take back to alter again. Her father came later along with two other businessmen. Hung and chat for a while before going back to the apartment. Tested the buffy dvd, turns out to be alrite. Took a bath and then packed my luggage. Wa...really full. Damn heavy. Slept at 12 plus.
Woke up at 7am the next day. Cleaned the house, packed here and there, finalised everything. Went down to banhmi bistro for breakfast, ate the chicken baguette. Went back upstairs again, took out luggage, went downstairs, put it in the car. Her father's chaffeur then drove us to some street to meet ms hang to collect carine's remaining 2 clothes. Went to the airport after that. Checked in our luggage, got our tickets: 15D 15E, in the middle this time round, passed the immigrations and went to the departure hall to sit and wait for boarding. Boarding time was suppose to be 12.05pm. But then the plane was nowhere in sight. It was until 12.20 that the plane touched down to the airport from singapore, turned to our gate. When all the passengers had alighted, we boarded the plane. Seat nos 15D n E, which means in the middle, right where the engine is. The plane took off shortly after we boarded. Watched jj's the killa video and d gray man anime on carine's laptop. Reach singapore at 3.30pm. Went pass the customs and collect our luggage. My parents came to meet me, and so did carine's mum and younger brother. We bid each other farewell and took the taxi home.
Time flies really fast, school is starting on monday, saw my timetable already, thursday and friday are packed! and they are the longest days. The worst is thursday, with lessons from 8 till 6 with onli 1 hour of break in between, and there are 8 o clock lessons as well. Gosh!
Managed to get my wireless working already, finally, after like 1 month. Ok, so now im able to use my laptop.
