Not been feeling good this week. PMS? U can say tat. Y? Hmm...i dunoe, mayb its jus one of those down days. Felt lonely suddenly and felt like crying sometimes. My flu has been going on and off. I rather fall sick all at once than to have it on and off. So damn irritating.

Anyway, great singapore sale is here! Hehe...time to go shopping, and of course before the GST hikes in july. Thought of revamping my wardrode, make it more mature and ladylike. And im crazy over lace black and maroon. Sexy colours??? Hehe...yup, indeed they are. Haha...for all u know, i might look different next time.

Feel like eating junk food this few days: potato chips, snacks, french fries, curry puff etc. Hope i dun put on weight sia. Into music nowadays, kept listening to music! Hope i can go k soon, kinda like singing.

Haven seen ayesha for quite time, wonder how is she doing. Seems like everyone is having PMS nowadays, guess its due to the hot weather and the heavy workload.

Almost fell sick this week. Was having headache and sneezing for the past few days. Luckily i managed to recover thanks to my functional and strong immune system. Hehe...

Work is as usual, PCR, gel electrophoresis and RFLP. And as usual, i hav to show dr moe progress report on monday, i hope it goes well.

Anyway, went to dr chan's house 2dae for a farewell party thrown by the class for her as she is leaving NYP soon due to some reasons. Woke up at 10am, bath and then left my house at 10.30. Caught a bus to kovan mrt station, took the train to douby ghaut, then change the north south line to yew tee. Met sujith at woodlands mrt and then went there together. So toughtful of sujth to buy a gift for dr chan :)

Haha...jin hong asked the class to meet him at 1140 at yew tee mrt. In the end, everyone was late, when sujith and i reach, there were only two people there, yongcai and ziling! Nice rite. Shortly, carine, zeya, sze ho, huda and jin hong arrived. The whole group of us then walked to dr chan's house. She was already ready waiting for us, with pizza an drinks and all. Her son is so adorable and intelligent and he is only seven years old. Can u believe it?! He could explain the photos in the photo album, gave us a tour of the house and pcake for dr chan intellgent rite.

Ate two pieces of pizza and half of a slice of cake. Wa...fatening. Pizza somemore. But it was a great lunch. Had a good chat with some of my classmates: sujith, candy, carine, ziling, yongcai, huda and of course dear sweet dr chan. Kelvin bake a cake for dr chan. So sweet of him. Michelle, yiwei and jeffery were late, they came at 3.15 and they bought a cake too to celebrate yiwei's birthday, which was yesterday. It was so fun, then we took lots of pictures as well. Had church at 6pm so i left dr chan's house at 4.15pm. Took the train to woodlands, then took 161 to sengkang to St Anne's church.

Today's mass is a children's mass. It was bit noisy tho, haha....but then anyway they are kids and kids tend to be noisy. After mass. went to hougang mall to eat dinner with parents. Shop around then went home.

It was a fun and enjoyable day. I enjoyed it alot.

Having a terrible headache and feeling super cold today. As the new PCR reagent that im using doesn't really give me a band, the guy from the company passed me another set of PCR reagent to try on. He said that this new PCR reagent is more robust, whatever that means and even said that if this new set of PCR reagent worked, he can exchange the old PCR reagent with this new one (Had previously set of the old PCR reagent) Anyway i tried and manage to optimise it. So hui hua called the company to tell them that the new PCR reagent worked and to ask them to exchange. I was surprised by his answer. He replied that i can only exchange for one tube as this new PCR reagent is twice the price of the old one. I was like huh? U were the one who said that i could exchange if it works, den now u r telling me this?! Hui hua then told me to try optimising the old PCR reagent, if i really cannot get a band, then she will order from another company. Haiz...and my optimisation is not really going well. Peng! Will try and optimise again.

Today is really unlucky, slipped and fell and hit my bum and cut my middle finger. So embarrassing, in front of my colleagues somemore. I guess i shall change another new pair of shoes. Hope tml will be better.

Met up with carine on tuesdayto buy sujith's present. Haha...guess wat we bought him? A friendship cup and a birthday card to go with it.


Went to watch spiderman 3 with carine on wedsnesday. Haha...got free tickets from shijin :) Overall, it was good, except for the part where the black venom appeared out of nowwhere. I love the fighting part, but its so sad that harry had to die at the end, and peter parker and mary jane didn't get married. Haiz...was hoping that they will get married. But then, together oso can la! Some parts were super funny, some parts were super sad, some parts were meaningful.

Then on thursday, went to church at night for the feast of acension.

Met ayesha on saturday at my house downstairs to sign sujith's birthday card. Know wat, she drove her motorbike to my house! Wow...steady man.

Then celebrated sujith's birthday on sunday. Sorry buddy it had to be a belated one. Set at starbucks with malcolm n sujith and chatted for 4 hours! Then went to foor republic to eat dinner. Reach home at 10.45. It was a fun day tho.

Tml is Monday again. Oh well. Kk...gonna sleep now, tired de. Cya!

Super dooper hyper major tired this week. On monday, another attachment student, catherine from NTU came. She will only be here for 10 weeks, which means until mid july. First two days for her was very relax and boring as she had nothing except reading scientific papers. Then on tuesday, dr moe told me to bring her along the next time im doin my PCR. And showed i showed her how to do PCR, how to load gel, RFLP, etc. Then on thursday, dr moe told hui hua to give her the PCR reagents as he wanted her to practice on it.

My taq polymerase is running out. The company doesn't make anymore of the taq which im currently. So hui hua ordered the taq from another company. As this is a new reagent, i have to optimise my PCR conditions again. Haiz...this is gonna take another three weeks plus. Gosh. So now im trying to make my taq last as long as possible. Im left with 126 control samples and 21 stroke samples, and each sample i only use 0.5ul of taq, so i think it should be able to last me till half of my control samples. In the meantime, i will try optimising the conditions for the new taq.

This week was really the ultimate. I did damn alot of RFLP and ran damn alot of gels. Hmm...its so sad to hear that dr moe wanted to terminate hui hua's contract (she is on one year contract).. She told us that dr moe is giving her two months to complete certain targets, if she cannot complete it, then dr moe will terminate her contract. So sad rite. Hiaz...and min min is leavin as well either at the end of this month or the next month to australia-new south wales to work. Catherine is leaving in mid july, which leaves me, the last one to leave on the august 24.

Was suppose to go out with carine today, but then she fell sick. I hope she gets well soon :)

Haha...downloaded alot of songs recently from multiply. Haiz...but i cannot upload them onto my website, it keeps telling me error. There is something terribly wrong with blogger. My blogging page has been distorted for more then a week already. Sian half.....

Cannot wait for lin jun jie's new album to come out. OMG, i keep hearing his new songs on the radio. And his duet song with jin sha: Fa Xian Ai is super nice! Go listen, i strongly recommend this song. Its damn nice. Gosh, i cannot wait for his new album to come out.

15 weeks of attachment...

Another week has past. Haha...something very funny happened on thursday. Previously, there was a renovation going on in the lab and we all had to dismantle our computer. Then on monday, when the renovation was over, we had to fixed our computer back. My mouse was spoiled and so i took someone's esle mouse and threw my spoiled mouse away. Then on thursday, my supervisor called the IBM ppl to bring a new mouse over. When the IBM ppl came, they asked for the spoiled mouse. I told them i threw it away. Then they said that they cannot give us a new mouse unless we give them the spoiled mouse coz they need proof that the mouse is really spoil before providing us with a new mouse. So my supervisor called someone from another lab to bring an old mouse. My supervisor then told me tat im not suppose to throw away the mouse as it is government property and government property cannot be thrown. Ok, guess it was a lesson learnt for me.

Spent the whole of saturday at home, listening to music on my computer. It feels so nice to be relaxing on a windy saturday. Stayed up on sat nite, watching harry potter till 2.30am in the morning. Boy, i love the goblet of fire soundtrack. Anyone who has the soundtrack can send me?

Then on sunday, i went out with my primary sch friend angelina to vivocity. Went to eat superdog for lunch. Ate the chicken ripper tis time. Haha...should hav asked for utensils coz everything starts falling when i started eating. We then chatted. Turns out she is working currently at land transport authority while waiting for her application results to NUS. Haha...and she is being dragged out every week by her friends to hear then complain about their boyfriends. She asked if i hav a boyfriend, sad to say, nope i dun hav :) Tat whole day we were looking at accessories. Haiz...but then they are all so expensive. And i saw the cable cars again, gosh, makes me so tempted to spend $10.90 jus to ride on it. We went to this pet shop at level three. The dogs and hamsters are so cute! Dinner was good. Ate at shin kushiya, a japanese restaurant. The food is quite nice and the price is affordable too. A soba and two sticks of grilled skewers and a cup of green tea plus GST and service charge only costs $ 14.90. Quite ok rite.

Back to work again on monday. Wa...sian, monday blues. A new attachment student from NTU came in. She will be here for 10 weeks, which means her attachment will end in mid july. Hmm...did 2 RFLP tat day.

Today, tuesday was a busy day. Did PCR in the morning and ran a gel for RFLP. Went for lunch at 12.30. Came back at 1.30. Ran 2 gels for RFLP. Receive a call from my liarson officer Miss Cherine Tan, saying she is at block 6. I then went to look for her and haha...we both ended up getting lost. In the end, she asked for directions and learned that it was at block 1,2,3. So i walked back to my block to meet her. Thank goodness, we finally met each other. She and i then went to meet dr moe. Haha...the whole time they were talking about collaboration between NYP and NHC, blah blah blah and their past projects, wat projects the lecturers at NYP are currently working on, blah blah blah. Occasionally, they talked about my project. After that, dr moe then showed her around the lab. After the lab tour, we went to the staff lounge to hav a heart to heart talk. We talk about my project, my progression, and she asked some questions as well to test my understanding. Overall, it was a good talk. She told me the possible questions that the lecturers will ask, the things to read up on, how to improve on my presentation. Hopefully, i will be able to apply it to my presentation and project. Went back to the lab to look at my gel after the talk and then went home after that. Wat a busy day.

Its May finally! April has been such a slow month. Lst of May was a public holiday as it was Labour Day. Went out with carine, cara and candy in the afternoon. Had lunch at ichiban sushi, wow, the food there is nice! And its quite affordable, $15.90 for a chawanmushi set. It was such a lovely lunch :) with jokes and laughter and talks and relaxation and chills. And we took pictures as well. After candy went off, carine, cara n i walked to heeren where we took neo print :) A pity candy went off early, if not the four of us can take neo print together. Will be posting the pictures soon. After taking neo print, we then went home.

Even though we did not really do anything much on that day, it was a fun and enjoyable one. Thanks carine for organising this outing =)

Spiderman is out! Finally. Waiting for harry potter to come out.

Its friday tml, and then on to the weekends. Yeah! This week flew by v fast. Another three more weeks and then its vesak day, another public holiday, can't wait. T_T
